Featured Guest Artists at DSC's An Afternoon with the Seniors

Juan Makasining Youth Artist Network and Play House join forces to bring entertainment for the second seminar of Daseekers Cove together with some members of Dulaang Pinay dedicated to some of our society's elders.


1. DULAANG PINAY (Miriam College's Theater Group)

Binubuo at pinangungunahan ang Pinay ng mga mag-aaral ng Kolehiyo ng Miriam. Ang mga kasapi nito ay may malinaw na oryentasyon at handang magtaguyod ng malaking silbi sa lipunan. Sa pamamagitan ng pagtatanghal, malayang mailalahad ang adbokasiyang pinaninindigan: ang makapagmulat ng mga manonood ukol sa isyu ng lipunan.

Para sa Pinay, ang sining ay buhay. Isang paraan upang magpahayag ng mga damdamin at karanasan ang pagsasagawa ng mga makasining na pagtatanghal at likha. Ang adhikaing pakikibaka na isaayos ang pulpol na sistemang patuloy na nabubulok ang tumatalima sa organisasyong ito. Nais ng Pinay na umaksyon at ibahagi ang mga angking talento upang magbukas ng mga nakakandadong isipan. Ang paglaya sa mga nakagisnang ideolohiyang nagkakahon ang ninanais ng organisasyong ito. Naniniwala ang organisasyon na kailangang magkaisa ang mga mamamayan na umaksyon dahil sa iginigiit na pag-asa. Ang tanging dahilan ng patuloy na pag-gahasa kay Inangbayan ay ang ating pagsasawalang-bahala at kapabayaan. Kailangang himukin ang bawat mamamayan na makiisa sa pagbibigay ng malasakit sa nalulugmok na bayan. Ang pagkatok sa isipan ng bawat isa ang minimithi ng aming organisasyon.

2. MYSTICAL FIVE GIRLS (M5G)

Five different girls with a common interest of kpop and performing arts. Coming from different cover groups and screened by experts from the different fields of music, dance, modeling and acting, these girls crossed paths and trained under notable personalities in the field.

Although M5G is in the process of expanding their repertoire to the different musical genres, it remains to pay tribute to traditional South Korea colors which were based on Confucianism and Buddhism. These cardinal colors are associated with the five directions and elements. They often appear in Korean clothing, celebrations, martial arts, architecture, art, food and symbols.

Adapting this concept to the personalities these girls embody in the group, M5G stands to be the only k-pop influenced group to integrate traditional Korea and modernized Korean culture in its conceptualization.

3. MARIES REBUCAS

Maries is one talented lady with a vast interest in the arts and wellness: a painter, a dancer, an actress, a model, a passionate make-up artist, a party organizer, a yoga expert, a natural vegetarian, and an upcoming recording artist. A good friend of PHP's founder, she's M5G's voice coach and a guest talent in most of Playhouse's events. Apart from these, she soars high with her gigs both here and abroad.
