What is your art? What do you love to do? What inspires you to do it? Every artist has an art and an inspiration in doing it. However, most artists face discouragement, deception and discrimination among other trials as they discover and develop their art.

With the standards set by some norms, it seems that criticism comes easy for the newbie. The new ones in the field can’t seem to deviate from what has been set and therefore it is always a challenge for them to be better than those who came first according to people’s expectations and not according to what they really want to do.

As arts now play a vital economic role in the consummate world of business, an artist seldom creates an artwork or performs for self-expression. In a country wherein art is seen only as a recreation, hobby or a sideline, most artists set aside their calling for this and choose to get employed and be financially stable.

Most practical people don’t get it, however. As Oscar Wilde puts it, “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all”. We need art to understand life, more so to live. Art is a representation of an experience. Since life experiences are mostly personal and subjective in nature, art is deemed to be the key to mirror each and everyone’s experiences…to be the bridge that connects us to other people. Just as our experiences make up our lives, representations of these in different art forms capture fully the vastness in our lives.

This workshop’s aim is to bring back to the artists their cause and empower them with what inspires them to continue with their art. The following activities will be done in the seminar:

(1) Film viewing

(2) Sharing among the group on the struggles faced by each one

(3) Lecturette on Art/Creative Inner Energy Flow

(4) Meditation to Empower Your Art
