Sagela's ASSERT YOUR ART to be Integrated in PLAYHOUSE PRODUCTION's Artista Build-up Summer Camp

This 2015, ASSERT YOUR ART serves as the banner workshop of Playhouse Production's Artista Build-Up Summer Camp. "We want to let the participants realize that if they want to make it big in the industry, they have to give it their best which most of the time means a lot of sacrifices even on the part of their personal lives", explains Michelle Ann Rio, Founder and CEO of Playhouse Production.

In the span of two years that Playhouse Production has been running, it has experienced a heavy turnover of artists and staff. "Their stories are all the same. They couldn't keep their personal lives off their work. I tried to help them but since they can't help themselves, I had to let them go", Michelle elaborates.

An aggrieved staff or talent has always put the blame on Playhouse Production once they get out of the roster. Michelle no longer takes this personally as she realizes that people who don't face or own up to their misbehavior will always find a fall guy in the  process. "These kinds of people are weak, they mirror their own faults on other people. These people have not been brought up well by their parents and haven't blended well in the society."

Inspired by these experiences, Michelle comes up with the Artista Build-up Summer Camp. "It's high time that I show what it really takes to be in this business. I have to go back to the basics to help remind both staff and talents that before you get out there and mingle with other people, you have to work on yourself first. A lot of complications happen in our lives in both our personal and business dealings if we do not recognize or deal with our own struggles".

Everyone struggles everyday. As long as we live, we will always encounter problems. Working on our weaknesses and turning our threats to opportunities is a positive and possible way of turning around the situation to our own advantage so it won't get in the way of our goals in life. "That's where the importance of Sagela's ASSERT YOUR ART Workshop comes in. Other summer workshops for sure will only teach the techniques.Here, we will help all participants, reach into their hearts and find a little more inspiration in continuing on their dreams despite the challenges they have to face in their everyday lives. A true artist finds peace in their art and so he or she will do more to excel in it further," Michelle points out.

JHON: From a Book to My Life

I bought this book two years ago, its title is The Path of Energy by Dr. Synthia Andrews, ND. It's a very insightful book about how our spirituality is connected to our brainwaves. 

As I reread some pages yesterday, I flipped through this one which perfectly describes the John that I know, and very coincidentally the name in the example is also the same.

I was right all along! I was trying to help him out with this as his manager but you all know who got in the way. I have no idea how in the world will I ever get to him again to show this to him.

Since I do not know how to reach him now, no matter how hurt and angry I have been, I'll just end this creatively with Mariang Dalaga and #TEAMJHOMICHsimply because nothing is ever impossible in dreams...

Dharma Sunday

Dharma Sunday returns this month with an English prayer, Buddhist lecture and film showing and discussion on March 23, 2014.

Award-winning poet Dr. Marjorie Evasco will talk about Learning the Lesson of Meaningful Practice (A Buddhist Aesthetic in the Praxis of Poetry) for the Buddhist Lecture Series and the Dharma Cinema Circle will feature the film Groundhog Day from the late Harold Ramis.

The prayer and lecture will be held at the Prajna Lecture Hall (5th floor) while the film showing will be held at the Audio Visual Room (6th floor). Registration for this open and free event will start at 8:30 am.
