Kevin Plata guests in John Calub's Turning Point 2012

Turning Point 2012 is yet another successful seminar organized by John Calub Training to give clarity on the Mayan Calendar's "end of the world" prediction. This event was inspired by Calub's search for a rational explanation on this notion which has rocked the world on its forthcoming. A lot of calamities and unusual events came about in the past months, leaving an impression to the ordinary individual that these depict the dreadful "end of the world".

According to Hunbatz Men, keeper of the Mayan Calendar and an elder of the Maya Itza tribe, most people have misunderstood it because they don't just have one calendar but fourteen. The particular calendar being talked about refers to one of the cycles of time. This calendar marks Dec. 21, 2012 as the end-date of the 5,125-year-long-cycle. With every end of the cycle comes a beginning of a new one.Something is definitely bound to happen but not end of the world. It may be a shift in the “mindset, spirituality, in emotions in people, meaning a shift in consciousness, and not end of the world, as Calub puts it.

Gathering the country's finest motivational speakers for Turning Point 2012, Calub's goal is to help release the fear which has been brought to us by the misinterpretation of the Mayan calendar: Pido Aguilar (Best-selling author of the book Abundance), Dr. Christian Mancao (Pain Management Expert), Paolo Trinidad (Founder of Pinoy Laughter Yoga), Sainayah Gurnamal (Life Coach and Healer), Tony Suvega (Feng Shui Master), Dr. Kevin Plata (Clinical Psychologist), among others. There has also been a laser light display and magic show of master illusionist JB Dela Cruz. Song and dance numbers were also done by D-Coy and various artists

Kevin Plata, one of the readers at Da Seekers Cove, has been invited to talk about "The Power of Gratitude". Specializing on Energy Medicine, he emphasizes the importance of keeping everything in positive light so as not to block the natural flow of energy. Being grateful, after all, is one of the best feelings to keep up our enthusiasm in life.

One of the ways to show our indebted gratitude is through hugging the person. A hug is a universal form of physical intimacy, wherein two people put their arms around the neck, back, or waist of one another and hold each other closely. If there are more than two persons are involved, it is already considered as a group hug. Depending on culture, context and relationship, a hug can indicate familiarity, love, affection, friendship or sympathy. It is given as an indication of support, comfort, and consolation, particularly when words are not enough. A hug is also a demonstration of affection and emotional warmth, which can be out of happiness at meeting someone or seeing someone that a person has not seen in a long time.

One of the highlights of Turning Point 2012 was the Hug Festival with its attempt to break the Guiness Book of World record for the longest Hugging Event Festival. Thousands of Filipinos hugged one another in a designated time in the spirit of love, peace and harmony. John Calub hopes to grow Hug Festival into an annual activity and soon make it to Guiness with the record of the having the most number of people hugging at a time with longest hug chain ever done.
