What I've been through since ASSERT YOUR ART Workshop

My last article on this blog was the post-event event write up on my first-ever workshop which was ASSERT YOUR ART in April 2013. Since then, I officially left Da Seekers Cove for good. I had clients who went directly to me to seek tarot consultations. My tarot reading career was at high last July 2013 but for some reason, it melted down again when I got focused on the music video which I produced and wrote for my talents at Playhouse Production.

This took so much of my time, energy and effort that for almost five months, I have imbibed the role I took here, as the serious girl who falls for the boy next door.  The one who plays the boys next door happens to be my crush (too bad, he's committed in real life). Yet, having been the 'apple of his eyes' even just in a part of this video was something  so special for me...even if he doesn't know it.

This video was supposed to be shown at a local event that we are sponsoring in September 2012. However, the producer of the track used in this song betrayed us and told the organizers of the event that we have violated the copyright of the song by using it for our video without his authorization even if he really wrote the song for my group. Ralph Ugarte a.k.a. Wiz on the Beats, even threatened to sue me in court but I know he was just frightening me because he's an illegal American alien settled in Sta. Rosa, Laguna with his Filipina wife. He lives in Villa Esmeralda which is one of the subdivisions in front of Enchanted Kingdom where his recordings with promising artists are held including my group. He also humiliated me in our circle of independent music artists as someone who infringes music copyright. This video was affected because Youtube suspended the first version we have put out in correspondence to his report.

That was one of the major conflicts I had last year and it got me really down. Little did I know that even Playhouse :Production's partnership with Juan Makasining Youth Artist Network is also going to falter. After providing the place, the manpower and even the money, founder Jophel Botero Ybiosa just turns his back from me for a very petty reason. We just had a heated argument about a disorganized meeting he arranged with Mr. Rommel Padilla for a movie and an advocacy project. I never knew what happened to that since a day after we fought, he blocked me on his social media accounts and never conversed with me again. In turn, I withdrew my testimonials about him in both a possible award and a pending job application. Alas, the last two people I thought that could be trusted also betrayed me. They were trying to get more than I could offer. I had to be so bad and bash them on my personal account. In turn, I got lots of calls and messages from unknown numbers. Some even go to my house to perter me with loud, continuous and annoying doorbells.

Towards the end of the year, I went into surgery due to a growing cyst on my back, which was thankfully benign. In almost two months of recovery at home, aside from regaining my strength physically, I also went back through how my life has been. I've had many realizations and I was enlightened on the things that I should continue with and the things that I should give up on.

This year, I am currently studying at the Canadian Tourism and Hospitality Institute, taking up my second degree which is Hotel and Resort Management. I am still doing events and tarot reading although my priority is my studies. Right now, I just want to be subtle and unreadable to my foes. I just want to go on in life without them checking on me and gossiping me about me. I know I won't be able to hide from the forever but just for now I want to be away from them all.
